Her Cats (Commission) - draft

Description

This is a redo of a sketch I did previously (see thumbnail below). It's going to be a painting (or rather three paintings that go together) that a family friend commissioned from me. She wanted me to somehow portray the personalities of her three cats, and she gave me a lot of free reign with the project.

I sent her the last sketch and she loved it, but I decided I wanted to make the cats a bit more expressive or something. Sooo I whipped this up. The quality of the sketch itself isn't as good, but I think I prefer this idea over them just sort of standing there awkwardly posing. Oh, and I didn't sketch the background for this one, but the theme is that they're at a carnival/fair.

From left to right:

Candy - the girly girl. Loves anything shiny and pink. I gave her a lollipop more or less because her name is candy, and it seems like it could go with her happy-go-lucky-ness. It looks like she found something interesting and just sort of took off, leaving the other two to follow her.

Van - the inquisitive little boy. He wants to know everything about everything. He has a map because he's curious about everything he can do at the fair. But Candy skipping off in a random direction without him knowing the plan has thrown him for a bit of a spin.

Norah - the chubby girl. She's apparently quite the eater, and has a bit of a pudge. She's just sort of chill. I guess she's just following along with the others because she's cool with whatever, although she kinda wants to check out that burger stand over there. She has cotton candy because...well...food.

If you're interested in commissioning me to do things, let me know. Although I'm not really expecting that to be a thing. XD
